I always come to your writing, it's many things to me: refreshing, comforting, honest and many more things that I can't list right now because my 9 month old is screaming next door while I finish pumping milk. I guess that's been part of my summer.
Sounds divine…and telling the truth, if only to yourself, feels huge. I think I might distract myself with ice cream. I am still trying to figure out what that truth really is. And I did find myself wishing to just bake something…your posts always feel so divinely grounded in Life.
I'm in! Thanks for this, Jeff. It feels like a wake-up call to remember that we are all capable of seeing life from this invigorating perspective. As always - you are spot on. Love,
Thank you for sharing! I'm glad you enjoyed those experiences with family and the appreciation I hear in this message.
There is something I can't quite put into words right now, or maybe I can: the appreciation and recognition of what's important and matters most, that I see in this message--that resonates with me too :)
I love reading something like this - so good it conjures up vivid memories and new imaginings. By the way, I apparently said some nice things about you on Heather Parady's podcast, FYI.
Haha. Fun! I don't know Marty and will have to check it out. The love the "feel" of old movies. Some of them hold up very well. There's just a texture to them, like listening to vinyl. It's hard to replicate these days, though I do think the likes of Paul Thomas Anderson come close.
Welcome back Jeff. The Girl from Ipanema is one of Brazil’s great contributions to the world. The backstory of that song is fascinating. Not only that, Astrud Gilberto (the singer) was the wife of the composer João Gilberto , a Bossa nova pioneer . I hope I experience it next year when I travel to Brazil. (I loved that you used the term “hullabaloo”. There was a popular TV show from the 60s by that name that featured rock and roll acts. Interestingly , the word dates back to the mid-18th century.)
Thanks, Tim. I actually knew some of that. I got an Astrud Gilberto record the other week from the record store. However, I have yet to get the classic Getz and Gilberto, though I'm aware of its importance to the world of jazz and bossa nova.

Aw, well, thank you for including me in your moment, Ingrid. :)

Aw, very kind of you, Terra. I'd love to hear what's up with you: what's new in your world, where you are, and what life is teaching.
Sent you an email 😉.

I'm glad to hear that came through, Marisa.

Heh. Nice! Thanks, man. Good to hear from you.
I've been watching a lot of black and white movies lately (Marty, Fred and Ginger, etc.) for this exact reason.
Oh, nice. What, if anything, has moved you recently?
Definitely the movie Marty, and the soundtrack to Disney's The Rescuers, as cheesy as that sounds!

Exactly! I highly, highly recommend Marty. Ernest Borgnine is fantastic. It’s just such a feel good movie.
I'll check it out.
I'm glad you're back, nice to see your name in my inbox again <3

Stunning homage to living life.
Thanks, Megan. I know you know when it comes to ice cream. ;)
Hehe. God knows. I know. Lol
