It is so far. We first listened to A Russian Journal, another non-fiction work of his. As a result I decided I wanted another travelogue from him. Steinbeck is very good at describing mood, events, people, his dog. I am trying to learn from him. The only thing I don’t like is the choice to read the audiobook. Gary Sinise is a fine actor but his voice grates on me in this instance
I thought this would be a roadtrip, but turns out bonding and improved driving despite difficult road conditions. No bad roads, good drivers? I didn't expect driver's advice in a poem! Great stuff!
