It was an honor to acquire and publish that book! I’ve given away many copies. Same with Real Artists Don’t Starve. If a person is wondering what it takes to “do your thing,” whatever that thing is, both books are great thinking and feeling-it-out partners.
What a nice surprise to see you on here! Real Artists Don’t Starve helped encourage me on the road to success in my early twenties. It completely destroyed the stereotype I had assigned to myself as a starving artist. Revolutionary work.
Jeff - I’m not sure what kind of designs or illustrations you’re looking for regarding your daughter’s class book, but I may have something that works (or could possibly work in collaboration with others). I’m a resident of Olympic Valley, CA, a writer and photographer. (And yes, I have your book!) Please take a look at my site: www.BlueWolfGallery.com and let me know if you’re interested. I’d love to help.
“With unprecedented achievement comes three unexpected companions: first, disillusion, then angst, and finally relief. Disillusion, because nothing you want is ever what you think it will be.” If you can, can you explain more these emotions you felt or link to a post if there is one? I followed you since the beginning and remember when you were writing your first book. Your writing is so smooth and thoughtful.
As a frequent traveler who values the exploration and adventure, I would maintain that writing a book can indeed be like traveling. At this stage of my life traveling is indeed a permanent fixture, and would have been more so had not my physician wife lost the 2 doctors who did the day-to-day patient care at the practice she owns. She had to go back to full-time doctoring. PS. Glad you’re back!

You're too kind, Joel. You've taught me more than you know. Thank you.

That would be great, Michael. Shoot me an email (jeff@goinswriter.com) and I'll send you the manuscript. Thanks!
Done!
Jeff, your honesty is always refreshing, and your insights spot on.
Thanks, neighbor!
