Love this! Happy Holidays to you, Chantel and the kids! I can see it, smell the fresh brewed coffee, and feel the crisp fall air. Best of all, I can relate. This year I will likely refrain from sneering and laughing at couple of Karens in a tug of-war over the last Black-Friday pair of Jimmy Choos. Instead, I will slowly promote my 8-year-old book (Beyond Recovery). Watching and waiting for it to move from #6 on the Kindle list in OCD to #1 one so I can see that ego boost banner that says,"best seller". Then I will get back to completing my next relationship manifesto on kindness and compassion and then take a nap. All in a day in the life of being human.
Good morning read, and thanks for reminding me to get out and shop, which I know was not your intention. But to be fair, I’m supporting my little community and getting out to walk!
Such a great essay on the Fear of Missing Out: FOMO. The more we chase things for fear of missing out, the hungrier we become for the next thing. Maybe it's like drinking alcohol, you build up a tolerance and need more to get the original buzz. Social media can be that way too. What if there's something everyone knows but me because I haven't logged on in a day, week, month? I like the idea of porch sitting, walks, a drive to see a sunset, or just enjoying a good book. I admit I have too many yet unread. I guess that's where my FOMO dilemma shows up.
With the mantra, more, more, more......Amazon has recently added yet another site to whet our pallets, HAUL, each item $20.00 or less. Who could resist?

We have all been fools before for that unique jacket or course with that special price ends today.
It's all good fun. We lose, and we win, and life continues.
