Thanks, Tim. Just checked out your work and read your thoughts on the importance of not broadcasting everything. Well said, and I wholeheartedly agree.
This poem captures the quiet moments of everyday life so beautifully. It's a lovely reflection on the small wonders that surround us if we take the time to notice. Very inspiring, Jeff!
That's nice to hear, Rolando. This one just kind of flowed out, and when it was done, it was done. I hoped it was enough, made just a handful of edits, and let it go.
Reminds me of jogging the Cowpens (SC) battlefield in my late 30s-mid 40s. There was this brown park sign on the trail I ran which from afar appeared to be a bear.😃
This poem is so gentle and quiet in the best way. Is this not the mind of so many writers? Sipping coffee in the morning, taking in the stillness, observing some fine detail, and finding the poetry in it. Thank you Jeff! I love writing poetry and this inspires me to add some to my newsletter.
Very nice poem. Love the small moments of everyday life captured here.

You're welcome and thanks for your thoughts and reposting. That "secret life" I spoke of really needs to be pushed in today's world of oversharing.
Lovely poem! The details create a peaceful yet thought-provoking atmosphere.

Thanks Jeff, you inspired me to write a poem today... I use to write them but then got married and stopped
Only some things. But which?
Indeed.
The bird was a leaf.
A calming flow of words. Nice.
A beauty I know I know well - thank you for the words🙏🏻💓
Bless you, Jeff! Watching and waiting for wonder to drink from us. 🙏❤️
I am going to go make coffee now. Lovely poem.
