I sit in my backyard, often with a book. But soon the birds arrive at the fountain, drinking and bathing and chirping. I close the book and share your observation. Wow.

Most people distract themselves from it by the myriad ways we clever humans have developed. Some of us enjoy the quiet but that only makes the yearning easier to feel.

I’m with you. So much to learn. I want it all, too. I find myself distracted all the time, but I am drawn back to prioritizing my relationships with God and people.
