A Lesson in Audiobooks
Quick Reminder for Tomorrow's Live Teaching
Recently, I shared some thoughts on audiobooks, my complicated relationship with books you don’t have to pay full attention to while consuming them, and what the future of publishing just might hold for us all.
But that’s just me shooting from the hip.
Tomorrow, you’ll get to hear from some real experts in the industry who will be teaching on: “The State of the Audiobook Industry: Why It Matters and How to Leverage It for Growth.”
In this live teaching delivered via Zoom (I shudder to use the dreaded “W” word), you can join me, audiobook production and distribution pioneer Cory Verner, and business modeling specialist Jared Kuritz for an insightful conversation about the current state of audiobooks and the opportunities it presents for authors, professionals, and content-driven businesses alike.
We’ll cover the state of the market, why audio matters now more than ever, and what this growth means for any of us who write, read, or care about books.

You’ll also get an overview of today’s production and distribution options, along with ten ways to leverage an audiobook to strengthen an existing business model, expand your audience, and create new opportunities to get paid as an author.
Most importantly, nothing is for sale. There is no pressure to buy anything or do anything at all except show up, pay attention, and remain curious. The goal is to give you, and me, a sense of where things are headed in the world of books and what we can do about it.
The whole thing takes an hour. The teaching will be forty-five minutes, then we’ll wrap with fifteen minutes of Q&A. Here are the details:
Date: Tuesday, May 12, 2026
Time: 10:00 AM PT
Duration: 1 hour
Register: Click here.
Please note registration is limited to the first 100 people. First come, first served. If you sign up, please make an effort to show up, as you are literally taking someone else’s spot.
And if you can’t make it live, I’ll share the recording on my Substack, provided everything works out, along with a chance to take a free course on recording, releasing, and promoting your audiobook—along with some free and paid tools to help.
See you there,
Jeff
P.S. Here’s the link again to sign up if you’re too lazy to scroll back up (no judgment).

I’d really love to register for this! But the hour is tricky for me… don’t want to usurp anyone else’s spot. Would love a chance to watch a replay. Thanks!
Thank you for this, Jeff. You’ve had a significant impact on my writing journey. Blessings.
